Confidentiality
You can be assured that your counselling sessions are totally confidential and that the contents of the sessions will remain between you and your counsellor.
You will be asked to sign a confidentiality statement at your first meeting. The only exception to confidentiality is if your counsellor considers that you may be a danger to yourself or others. If this was the case, other relevant people may need to be informed about the concerns. Such a decision to break confidentiality is never taken lightly and would be discussed with you, except in the case of an absolute emergency.
