Standards

Welcome to the Beyond Family

Confidentiality

You can be assured that your counselling sessions are totally confidential and that the contents of the sessions will remain between you and your counsellor.

You will be asked to sign a confidentiality statement at your first meeting. The only exception to confidentiality is if your counsellor considers that you may be a danger to yourself or others. If this was the case, other relevant people may need to be informed about the concerns. Such a decision to break confidentiality is never taken lightly and would be discussed with you, except in the case of an absolute emergency.

Counsellor Standards

All the counsellors working for Safe Space are members of the governing professional bodies for Counselling and Psychotherapy – BACP or UKCP – and have regular 1:1 and group supervision. This ensures that the best professional standards are maintained.
They also regularly attend courses for continuing professional development.

Two of our most experienced counsellors are Registered Accedited Members of the British Assocciation for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

Safe Space is an approved placement provider for counselling students from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI).

Safe Space is signed up to the General Data Protection Regulations which ensures the confidentiality of the information that we have about you, and that your contact details will never be shared with another organisation without your consent.

Our counsellors regularly attend courses for continuing their professional development.
