We Support You To Get To a Better Place

SafeSpace counselling service was established more than a decade ago to work with clients with, or recovering from, drug and alcohol problems. Since then the service has been extended to vulnerable people in general, even those whose main concerns are not drug or alcohol related.

You can discuss with you counsellor all aspects of your life, not just drugs/alcohol.

The service charge is a minimum £5.00 per session but is free to those who cannot afford the minimum payment. The service is available to anyone over 18 years old living in the Nottingham City/County area. If you are happy to have remote counselling by telephone or video call you can have counselling through Safe Space from anywhere.

If you are working, you will be asked to consider making a weekly payment of whatever you feel able to afford.

We aim to provide an efficient, effective, caring and confidential service to our clients.

Do you have unwanted feelings or emotions? Do you want to ‘change’, although unsure what this ‘change’ looks like? Although I cannot wave a magic wand and makes everything perfect for you, I will show that within our therapeutic relationship a different way off ‘being’. The work together will start on our first session. I will offer a caring, genuine relationship, which at times may gently challenge to enable you to look at issues in a different perspective’s.

I have a passion for working with those that misuse substances (Alcohol, drugs). I have interest in working with those who have historic child abuse, those who have experienced Sexual Violence- and this affecting them, those who have issues around Eating, Loss, Depressive disorders, Anxiety disorders, Relationship issues, those who have Personality type disorders, and issues affecting those within the LGBQ plus communities.

I have worked for over 30 years with families, young people and adults within a range of different settings, and organisations, as a therapist, advisor and care co-Ordinator. I can offer short, solution focused work as well as long term work- this is up to how you believe you want to start this what could be a life changing journey.
